On April 8, 2025, CCGI hosted a fireside chat with Deputy State CIO & California Department of Technology Chief Deputy Jared Johnson and Former Gubernatorial Advisor Michael Wilkening to discuss the newly announced Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDL) framework.

Johnson discussed California’s shift from the Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) to the new Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDL), a more iterative and value-driven model designed to streamline technology planning, procurement, and implementation. The approach prioritizes early business value realization, challenge-based procurement via RFI² (Request for Innovative Ideas), and sustained executive engagement. Pilot projects, initially focused on generative AI, are underway with broader applications expected in the near future.
